Local History (Kyodo) Museum

Walking from Keio-Tamagawa station, you can see the building with orange characters (left photo). The right photo is the entrance.

You can see the history of Chofu from the ancient times to the present age.
This is the photo of earthen vessels of the Jomon Period.

These are stone implements. People lived around here such long ago...
By the way, this museum has no information desk or clerk...

The left photo is the pot and old coins discovered on November 1995 during the water pipe construction.
The 10,027 coins include Chinese and Ryukyu (present Okinawa) ones. About 75% were Eiraku-Tsuho coin of Min (Chinese dynasty of 14-17th centuries). The pot is considered to be made in late 16th century.

The right photo is the Koshu street long ago.
