Neighbouring upon in the south of Jindai Botanical Park is the temple Jindaiji. It was founded in the Nara era (more than 1200 years ago).
This is the sanmon, the mountain gate, although it is actually not a mountain.
This is the oldest existing building here which were built in Momoyama era (about 400 years ago).
This is Shaka-do that contains Shaka-Nyorai-Zo, the oldest exisiting statue of Bhudda in Kanto area.
This is Hondo.
You get into the smoke of the incense and wish your health at the smaller building before Hondo, then pray Bhudda.
In front of the temple is a street and a pond.
It might be nice to have soba, the buckwheat noodle, special product here, in the soba restaurant nearby.

There are many soba restaurants and manju (a bun with bean-jam filling. . . Do you understand?) shops. The left photo is Jindaiji Beer sold at these shops(500 yen) and at Seven-eleven(285 yen).
